Chapter 23
Investigation Report
Little Bug

During the first visit to the Codling home, Barb stood in the driveway and took this photo of the window of the computer room. The second time Ashley saw the ghost child, she looked at Ashley through the window. Notice a possible orb against the brick of the split level. Other photos taken from the driveway showed nothing paranormal.

The photo of the computer room showed an odd shadow at the window. The window is on the upper floor of the house, above the garage. The driveway is below and there is nothing outside to cast a shadow on the window. The photo was scanned and enlarged for closer examination.

The enlargement of the shadow on the computer room's window revealed what could be female facial features and long hair. Was this the face of the little girl haunting the Codling home?

From left to right are Donna Libby and Barb Huyser (seated at the table). Ashley Codling and Debby Codling are standing. During the second visit, the team worked with the family to develop a behavioral program to reward the ghost for good behavior.

On the fourth visit, the ghost was rewarded for good behavior with a toy tea set. Ashley stood in front of the girl's calendar. Each day the ghost displayed good behavior (no scaring anyone or destroying anything), she earned a star and praise from Ashley. The girl's behavior improved dramatically, as can be seen by the number of stars on the calendar.

During the fourth visit, Doug Blanck conducted an hypnosis session with Ashley to enhance communication with the ghost child. As Doug asked questions, Amy took notes. Later in the evening, while Ashley was in trance, the team drove to a location the ghost indicated may have been her home.

The final visit to the Codling home featured a birthday party for the ghost. The little girl had revealed her nickname "Little Bug" to Ashley in a dream. The place of honor was set for Little Bug, using her toy tea set and Raggedy Ann doll. Ashley Codling selected a cupcake for her and a "9" birthday candle was set in place. Amy Myers and Ashley Codling took refreshments, with Marvin and Debby Codling looking on. Everyone sang "Happy Birthday". Amy perceived Little Bug clapping her hands with excitement.

Refreshments finished and presents opened, Amy perceived the presence of Little Bug's grandparents. For the first time, Little Bug was paying attention to her grandparents who wanted to take herwith them to the other side. One by one, each member of the family and team encouraged Little Bug to go wtih them. Amy encouraged Ashley to express her feelings to Little Bug. Ashley encouraged her to go with her grandparents, wanting the girl to be happy.

The grandparents communicated their intent to leave to Amy. Amy described the scene as the grandfather picked up Little Bug. The child put her arms around her grandfather's neck. The grandfather expressed his thanks to Amy for all of the efforts made by the Codlings and the team to help his granddaughter. The grandfather carried Little Bug out the front door, accompanied by the grandmother. The Codlings and the team escorted them and stood on the front stairs, bidding them goodbye. Amy reported that the grandparents and Little Bug disappeared in the driveway. From left to right are Amy Myers, Marvin Codling, Ashley Codling, T.R. Codling, Debby Codling, and Doug Blanck.
